( Gymnema sylvestre extract)

Aids in Reduction of Hyperglycemia

• Antidiabetic activity appears to be due to a combination of mechanisms.
• Has been shown to regenerate the islets of Langerhans, especially the beta cells. These are the insulin-secreting cells in the pancreas.
• It also increases the activity of enzymes responsible for glucose uptake and utilization, and inhibits peripheral utilization of glucose by somatotrophin and corticotrophin.

Prevents Glucose Absorption

• Extracts containing gymnemic acids from Gymnema blocks off the absorption of sugar from the intestine in to the blood circulation thereby suppresses the elevation of blood glucose level.

Suppresses Sweet Taste and Reduces Sugar Craving

• Gymnema extracts are used to alter the perception of sweet taste in people.
• Hence there is a reduction in consumption of total calories and sweet calories.
