1. By I R Spectrum: The I R Spectrum of the sample should be concordant with that of Standard
2. Positive to Chromium and Nicotinic acid

Purity

Loss on drying: Not more than 6.0 %
Ash content: Between 25.0 and 30.0  %
PH: Between 3.0 and 6.0
Bulk density: Not less than 0.5 g/ml
Arsenic: Not more than 1 ppm
Lead: Not more than 10 ppm
Heavy Metals: Not more than 20 ppm

Assay

Content of Chromium Polynicotinate: Not less than 98.0 % and not more than 102.0 %
Content of Chromium: Not less than 13.8 % and not more than 14.5 %
