Eclipta alba commonly known as False Daisy or Bhringraj is a plant belonging to the family Asteraceae.
Active Principle:
The extract obtained from Bhringraj plant contains an alkaloid called ecliptine. It also contains saponins, beta carotene and nicotine.
Clinical Uses:
Bhringraj is the main herb for the hair care in Ayurveda. It is believed to zaintain and rejuvenate hair, teeth, bones, memory, sight, and hearing.
As oil, it treats graying and balding and makes the hair darker. It also improves complexion.
Bhringraj oil is has anti-aging properties, as it has a rejuvenating effect on the body. It is also given as a general tonic in cases of debility.
Bhringraj is used extensively by Ayurvedic practitioners, for treating skin diseases and eye infections.
