Bhringraj (Eclipta alba)

Eclipta alba commonly known as False Daisy or Bhringraj is a plant belonging to the family Asteraceae.

Active Principle:

The extract obtained from Bhringraj plant contains an alkaloid called ecliptine. It also contains saponins, beta carotene and nicotine.

Clinical Uses:

• Bhringraj is the main herb for the hair care in Ayurveda. It is believed to zaintain and rejuvenate hair, teeth, bones, memory, sight, and hearing.

• As oil, it treats graying and balding and makes the hair darker. It also improves complexion.

• Bhringraj oil is has anti-aging properties, as it has a rejuvenating effect on the body. It is also given as a general tonic in cases of debility.

• Bhringraj is used extensively by Ayurvedic practitioners, for treating skin diseases and eye infections.
